Who am I
My background is people!! I love people. And I love making a difference to somebody's life. Be that making them smile with a surprise gift or transitioning them through a major change in their life like a marriage ceremony, baby naming, funeral, or commitment ceremony.
I have had extensive experience working with people that have special needs which has given me the skills to be adaptive, patient, resourceful and overall, very good at problem solving. And always everything with a sense of humor! Currently I work in a public sector call center that offers different challenges but overall, my job is to solve an issue for somebody. That is my best skill, finding solutions and going beyond the expected to get a result.
I am involved in a wonderful charity that raises funds to assist children, and their parents, to achieve goals. It might be a wheelchair van is needed or some funds required to attend a camp but we do what we can with fundraising and have some fun along the way.
I have a Diploma in Celebrancy through The Celebrants Training College. This training has enabled me to access more resources, gain professional understanding of the role, improve my writing skills and increase my confidence. As an Independent Marriage Celebrant registered with the Department of Internal Affairs, I am required to uphold professional standards, integrity and to keep up to date with the law. I am a full member of the Celebrants Association NZ and to maintain this membership I operate within a framework of a Code of Ethics and a set of Professional Standards. All Celebrants Association NZ members are encouraged to undertake systematic and structured learning throughout their careers to ensure that they continually maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills to improve the quality of service they offer.
