Funerals
Grief is love that has nowhere to go.
Losing a loved one is tough. Its emotional on all levels. So putting together a heartfelt ceremony in the midst of that grief is not easy. My role is to put together a ceremony that will reflect who your loved one was. I will guide you through the process of a heartwarming, unique, ceremony that celebrates who they were, what they meant to those around them, how they touched the lives of those they knew. A life celebration can be as funny, serious, formal or light hearted as you want it to be. It can have music and pictures, videos and slideshows, moments of silence even.
People can have the opportunity to share their memories, read a poem, talk for a bit or even share bad jokes the loved one would tell. It's ok to be real about him/her, nobody is perfect and even the loveliest human beings had things that miffed somebody. And it is ok to say it. You probably will find people nodding their heads with a wry smile.
When you engage me to do a funeral, memorial or interment for someone dear to you I promise you that I will listen to you, and to those that matter to the deceased, and I will write something that has people coming away saying "that was really who he/she was". You will have final say on the content and I am happy to coordinate the whole ceremony.
